Solitude, Fellowship, Chaos

3 works, each 11”x18” using acrylic paint, collage, ink, and glue on Bristol Paper

For this three part mixed media piece, each one is created with collage, acrylic paint, gesso, mod podge, and ink, and each collage is an 11”x18”.

This piece is called Solitude, Fellowship, Chaos, and expresses the different feelings that come with being around lots of people versus none. With the cool toned first one emphasizing silence and solitude, you see aspects of sitting, prayer, waters, nature, birds, and calmness. With the middle one, we see a mix of some warmer adn cooler tones, still creating this gentle peace that showcases community and fellowship, and how that can be good and relaxing for the soul. This middle one also features a master copy of John Singer Sargent’s Wine Glasses painting that emphasizes intentional fellowship. With the third painting, we see the bold and chaotic colors, the chaotic composition with the photos of crowds and confusion setting in, really emphasizing the opposition from the first two.
